Snuggie..it is really more than a blanket with holes?

The Snuggie is a huge scam that sells you a blanket with holes that makes you look like a wizard. You can get everything you ever dreamed of for a low price of $14.95 or you could buy a fleece blanket for 5 bucks from GT Boutique and cut holes in it. To add to your very own dream rug they will send you a free book light with no extra charge, but all you really have to do is turn a lamp on. One of the most surprising things about the Snuggie is that it actually sells, and that means someone is buying it...like really why?

  1. The major part of this assignment is missing: your commentary on the media text.

    Such as:

Is the product a scam or just the way they chose to advertise that offends you?

Why do you believe it is a scam?

    Why are they so successful?

Examine the target audience - look also at the producers choice of marketing.

Extend the video into a written commentary.

  3. i agree with you fraser i think that the snuggies are a big joke like if you cant figure out how to keep a normal blanket on you theres problems and if its that cold in your house put on a sweater or something dont waist money on something else

  5. This is a good example of media being a production; therefor, it's main concern is to sell it's product and make a profit.
The typical person should be able to identify this product simply as a blanket with a hole for your head, but suprisingly it does sell.
Observing the ad, if the lady was so cold that a sweater, turning up the heat, and a blanket did not work, then how is the "snuggie" going to help her situation; for it does just look like an ordinary thin, fleece blanket?
